The concept of the mechanism of molding shrinkage and deformation (warpage) of resin products.

The deformation of the product is believed to be linked to the distribution of partial distortions leading to overall deformation!

The density changes when the molten resin solidifies. When the molten resin solidifies, the volume usually decreases compared to the molten state. If the entire product shrinks evenly at a constant rate, the molded product will simply become smaller, maintaining a similar shape. However, if the shrinkage varies in different parts, the molded product will deform and change shape, making it impossible to achieve the desired shape just by adjusting the dimensions of the mold. The deformation of the product is believed to be caused not by some external force acting on it, but by the distribution of partial strains leading to overall deformation. This way of thinking is used as a phenomenon model in the calculations for shrinkage warpage analysis in injection molding CAE (Computer Aided Engineering). *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.*

Thermal properties of plastics

Introducing the temperature range and temperature limits of plastics, including heat transfer point, heat resistance, and flame resistance!

This column introduces the thermal properties of plastics. Compared to metal materials, plastic materials exhibit changes in state and deterioration of physical properties at much lower temperature ranges, and this narrow temperature range is a characteristic feature. There are two points where the properties of plastics change discontinuously due to temperature changes, known as the glass transition temperature and the melting point. The glass transition temperature is the temperature at which a polymer, exhibiting a soft rubber-like state, transitions to a glassy state upon cooling. The glass transition temperature is denoted as Tg and is also referred to as the secondary transition point. It is an important property that is emphasized in practical applications because above Tg, the material exhibits rubber-like elasticity. *For more detailed information about the column, please refer to the related links. Strength of plastic

Introducing how the strength of resins such as homopolymers is determined!

This column introduces the strength of plastics. Homopolymers are said to excel in rigidity and heat resistance, but how is the strength of such resins determined? Taking the tensile test of plastic molded products as an example, plastics are composed of molecular chains that are entangled with each other at room temperature. The entangled molecules gradually come apart, and when the entanglement is completely gone, fracture (breakage) occurs. In other words, materials that are difficult to break (high-strength materials) can be said to have strong entanglement. *For more details on the column, you can view it through the related links.
